Programs and Projects
The AFAO International Program implements a range of projects/programs across the Asia and Pacific regions.
The primary goal of the program is to strengthen the role of community based organisations (CBOs), particularly those representing most affected communities, to more effectively participate in local, regional and global HIV responses.
In order to progress towards this aim, the AFAO International Program works in partnership with local and regional CBOs and networks to design and implement capacity development initiatives in the areas of:
-
community based advocacy
-
network development
-
strategic planning
-
organisational development and strengthening
-
community leadership
Committed to working in partnership with local and regional CBOs and networks, the AFAO International Program aims to ensure that its programming is community owned and driven, and tailored to the diverse settings found across the Asia and Pacific regions.
Our current projects/programs include:
AFAO also supports community based organisations across the Asia and Pacific regions through it’s International Grants Scheme. The Grants Scheme has been generously supported by an individual benefactor since 2001, and has assisted over 40 community based organisations to implement a range of new and innovative projects.
