| Netreach
and CyberReach are new services providing online chat information, support
and referral for Gaydar users.
You
can send an instant message to one of the profiles below, or chat
to us live when we are online in the chatrooms listed
below.
These
services are provided by the AIDS Councils in Queensland, Victoria,
South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
This project is supported by the
Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations (AFAO) and by Gaydar.com.au
This project
offers peer based information and support on everything to do with
sex
between men. If you want to know something simply private us in chat
or send us an Instant Message. If we can't help
you,
we'll
try to suggest another organisation that can. This is an anonymous and
confidential service.
Outreach
workers can be found at the times and in the chatrooms listed below. Outreach
workers are easily recognisable as their usernames will always end with
the initials "ac". For example, workers from the Victorian AIDS
Council will work under the profile "vacgmhc.ac".
When you
see one of us in any of the chat rooms, you can talk to us there in general
chat. Or you can ask for a private chat by double clicking on our username.
If we are already chatting with another person, we will let you know and
will get back to you later (if time permits).
We will never
'private' you (seek one-one chat), unless you have already messaged us
and asked for a chat.
If you want
to speak to someone when we're not online, you can send a Gaydar
Instant Message to one our profiles, or the table below has details
of telephone
numbers and email addresses. Please be aware that if you have been
chatting to one of us via Instant Message and send a message after
we have logged off, it may be a different worker who next logs and
responds to your message. You
can also
find
a lot of information on our websites, listed below, and
on
the AFAO
Site.
If you think
someone is falsely claiming to be one of us, either during these times
or outside of them, then please report this to Gaydar by clicking on the
'Report Abuse' red triangle in the chat room window.
