Treatments News
There are many different combinations of treatments available for HIV, and pharmaceutical companies usually have new drugs and drug classes in the pipeline.
The choice of which HIV treatment to take should be made in close consultation with your doctor and/or the treatments officer in your local AIDS council of PLHIV organisation.
The best places to get up to date information about treatments are:
- Our listing of treatments research findings
- NAPWA’s Treataware Program - contains summary information about HIV treatments in use and selected drugs under development, as well as information on clinical trials
- HIV Australia - AFAO's quarterly magazine publishes treatments news and commentary.
- International sites such as AIDSmap - accessible from our International Treatments links section.
HIV clinicians in search of HIV treatments information and news should contact the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM).
