Participants expressed a desire for the PCEHR to allow individual control over what health information is linked to their PCEHR and who can see it, as well as for robust complaints and penalties for misuse of their information.

The Positive Services Forum was held in Sydney in 2009 to facilitate information sharing and networking opportunities for people providing care and support services to people living with HIV. The Forum explored and promoted practices with demonstrated success in providing services for people living with HIV. From October 2005 to February 2006 AFAO funded a report to map existing services and programs related to HIV and STI prevention, and care and support for men who have sex with men (MSM) in Indonesia. The report identifies programs and highlights service gaps for MSM in Indonesia. In December 2005 AFAO supported a one day seminar hosted by the HIV/AIDS Public Policy Centre, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. The seminar provided a forum for discussion of the ways in which law positively and negatively impacts on people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS and identify the ways in which the law can be developed and applied both to improve the lives of people with HIV, and also to reduce the spread of HIV.
