AFAO members meet twice a year forum to share information about and discuss topical issues related to HIV.
Also, in 2014 AFAO held a National HIV Forum - a larger event, for members as well as research and clinical partners.

The first AFAO Members Forum for 2015 was held at the Darlington Centre, University of Sydney, on Friday 15 May and the morning of Saturday 16 May 2015.
Topics explored by participants included:
- HIV testing
- community based and peer-led programs
- community dispensing
- community education campaigns
- device and medication regulation and advocacy
- biomedical prevention, and
- research projects and initiatives focusing on mobile and CALD populations.
The 2014 National HIV Forum took place at the Pullman Hyde Park Hotel in Sydney on Friday 17 October.
AFAO hosted the Forum to share ideas and plans and develop consensus on next steps for the Australia's community based HIV sector and our partners.
The program included presentations and panel discussion in the morning and breakout group discussions in the afternoon.
The Forum was for people across the Australian HIV partnership to discuss HIV policy development, policy advocacy, sectoral issues, health promotion, research, and program delivery.
