AFAO
National Symposium on Prevention
The
establishment in April 2008 of the National Preventative Health
Taskforce was an important part of the
Rudd Government’s health reform agenda. The Taskforce
was charged with the development of the National Preventative
Health Strategy, which was to initially focus on obesity,
tobacco, and excessive consumption of alcohol. In June 2009,
it released ‘Australia: the healthiest country by 2020.’
Following
the conference, AFAO held a National Symposium on
Prevention on Thursday 27 May. Please
contact Phillip Keen on pkeen@afao.org.au
for more information.
