Details :
The APCOM secretariat, comprising a Coordinator and Administrative Assistant, lacks human resources to develop an advocacy and communications strategy to raise the profile of APCOM and its work in addressing the needs of MSM, and HIV issues. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) seconded an AYAD to assist in the development of an advocacy strategy with input from its coalition members. The APCOM AYAD is expected to continue the work of the current UNDP AYAD to finalise and implement the APCOM advocacy strategy in partnership with APCOM coalition members. The AYAD will also work to strengthen communication and information sharing across APCOM members through the development of a communication and knowledge sharing strategy. The strategy will outline the use of conventional and online mechanisms to facilitate effective information dissemination between and across members. Finally, the AYAD will assist sub-regional APCOM networks to develop their communication and knowledge sharing strategy, ensuring that appropriate linkages with APCOM’s strategy are established.
